Well I haven’t developed future-buyer’s remorse so that’s a good thing! I continue to scour the interwebs for word, solid or otherwise, of what else – if anything – we can expect before the iPad ships.
The good news is that devs are percolating with extremely interesting tidbits from their explorations of the iPad SDK. Most of them continue – rightfully so – to respect the boundaries drawn by Apple’s NDA. But they’re definitely excited, both by what’s new, and by the prospects of being able to grow their applications organically beyond the confines of a 3.5″ screen.
One dev shared something with me – as a fellow fan – but did so under the condition that I not discuss it publicly. Let’s just say what he told me made me happy 🙂
There seems to be a growing consensus that there will be a March event to introduce iPhone OS4, which would pre-date or coincide with shipping of WiFi-only iPads. However, the consensus also seems to be that the iPad wouldn’t get the OS4 update until June when the next rev of the iPhone would also likely ship. I can live with that if so!
In the meantime, here’s an iPad rundown that I missed until today. Nothing especially new or different, but it’s a pretty thorough rundown and nicely done:
