Well now we know – the 3G’s are due to arrive and hit retail on April 30th. The very last day in April. Couldn’t cut it much closer, could they?
My pre-iPad to-do list is getting shorter. Bag is in hand, as is the Waterfield sleeve. Custom skin on order. The last two big remaining items are file organization, and honing my app list.
On the file side of things, the plan is to archive anything related to past projects and work to the iMac, and keep current items on the iPad via some combination of dropbox, airsharing or goodreader. Need to play with each to determine which I like best…
On the app front…wow. I have about 50 apps earmarked for purchase, totaling around $350. Too much! Need to pare that list down some.
In the meantime, a fellow Apple fan brought this post from The Other Mac Blog to my attention. It’s by Colum O’Dwyre, whose using an iPad as his primary computer in college and reporting on his experiences. Great stuff Colum! We’ll watching closely!
You should share your list of 50 apps!
Yes, please do a posting and share your list. We can help you hone it, or supplement it with missing items.
Thanks for posting, and will do, in a new post…
You might find my wiki useful, it has a section focusing on using the iPad productively. Since getting the iPad I have been working on a Paperless Office Workflow.
I’m not really going iPad-only, I still am relying on my MacBook Pro 17, but the iPad is playing a significant roll.
I have several articles talking about document management/syncing on the iPad, as right now it is probably the Achilles heel of the iPad.
Thanks for posting Joel (nice URL by the way!)
I’ll definitely check it out – I look forward to your findings. I agree it’s the achilles heel for real productivity…………
