Erica Sadun is a terrific dev/hacker and a pretty solid journalist to boot. She just penned an interesting piece over at TUAW regarding the iPad’s success. Though I’d quibble with some of her ideas here, in particular regarding the relationship between netbooks and the iPad’s success, I *do* agree wholeheartedly with one of her key points. That is: the iPad succeeds spectacularly at the computing tasks most people do most of the time: web, email, media consumption, lite productivity. And it does so with insane battery life and super portability, all wrapped around a compelling UI.
I’ve been beating that drum for a while now! Anyway, worth a read I think….
